Apple today released the final version of macOS 10.13 High Sierra. Building on macOS 10.12 Sierra, High Sierra comes with a number of underlying changes aimed at offering a better user experience.
This includes support for Apple File System, which first made its way to iOS devices with the release of iOS 10.3 in March this year. The new file system has been optimised for flash and solid state disks and will be replacing Apple’s ageing HFS file system.
Another important improvement in macOS High Sierra is native support for H.265 (HEVC) video. However, support for H.265 videos will only be available on Macs running Intel’s 6th generation or higher Core processors.
